The Soundtrack to the Booze up.
THE STORY SO FAR.
2002
When Tom first introduced himself to Wiljum and they got together in the halfway house pub to talk about music, neither knew they would end up jammin. The first thing they recorded was a track called Where there's a will on to a cassette which was done by a mate called Brian at his flat in walton on thames. Wiljum laid down the guitars and Tom put the bass on later. The first jam sessions began a couple of months later and things went well.
2003
Saw the formation of the syndicate when Wiljum walked in to the pub one day and announced to Tom that he was going to do music from home via the internet and was going to call himself, the ageing hippie groove syndicate. Tom replied, right ok, lets give it a go then. The first recordings are dead and gone. Such is life when computers crash, Wiljum also sometimes known as delete probably didn't help either, anyway they are gone. Since then they have made a number of recordings that have received an encouraging response from listeners in more than one country.
2004
This year proved to be a good year for the syndicate with several tracks being recorded during beer and jammin sessions in the summer months. Blues for Ben was the first song to get them into the amazon chart top ten thousand. This was better than either Tom or Wiljum had expected and it prompted Tom to say you cant tear the trousers from a bare arse. This kept Wiljum amused for ages. The blues/rock/jazz/funk influences and feel remain thoughout the years work with some bits of heavier lead guitar work here and there such as Travellin man, a tune written for a friend who had recently passed away courtesy of cancer. All the tunes are for someone somewhere.
2005
This year saw a major boost in the line up with four new faces. Darrell, Guitarist/songwriter, Sue, Singer/songwriter, Dave, Singer/songwriter/hand drums and Chris, Guitarist/singer/songwriter. This year, various combinations of the syndicate members has produced tunes with vocals for free internet download such as Sunshine on the ocean, as well as the usual instrumental tunes.
